Just went grocery shopping and am soaking my fruit & potatoes in white vinegar water.  This is a great way to preserve your fruit/veggies because the vinegar kills mold, making your food last longer and stay fresher.  Plus, it cleans off all the dirt so that you don’t have to rinse your food before you eat it :)
When I first tried this I thought it would make my food taste like vinegar (for instance, the apples), but it doesn’t change the taste at all.  I especially love soaking tomatoes and mushrooms because they last SO much longer.  Simply fill your sink with water (a clean sink of course) and add about a tablespoon of white vinegar (I actually don’t measure it).  Then let your food soak for about 15 min.  Take it out, let it dry, then store it per usual.

I always do this with berries- they last so much longer!!
